Take the Trip

Traveling through South Africa can be one of the craziest things to do. What I found on my trip is that everything can be pre planned, but more importantly also, if you prefer you can “Wing it”. What I would advise is that some of your journey like the things you know you are going to do (bungy jumping) book. What makes that easier is that there is online invoicing and invoice systems that make this all the more easy.

So when you are trekking through the South Africa this is the advised route I would take. If leaving from Cape Town you can head down the N2 all the way to Durban then hit the N3 up to Joburg. This will give you the option to see the most memorable places in this country. As you start you could stop off in Stellenbosch and see the Winelands, then it’s off over the pass. Literally every 1km there is the possibility to stop and experience something, whether it is an activity or just a tea house or market shop. I wouldn’t advise stopping at every place, but what I would advise is to stop at some, because isn’t that the fun of a road trip to experience all the little things. You will find some of the best biltong stores in South Africa along this route. When you hit the Garden Route that is when it is the best part of the Journey for me.

You can see George, the Wilderness, Plett and St François, all beautiful places that show South Africa for what it really is. A hidden gem of Travel. When you hit Plett be ready to soon go Bungy Jumping off the highest one in the world. It is scary don’t get me wrong but you will thank me once you have done it. There is no greater rush than falling through the air and then feeling that pull back that brings you back to reality. Then it’s off to the forests Big tree and being able to take canopy tours through the tree tops. It really is a great experience and as you go through the wild coast and the Transkei you can see real wild South Africa, where the culture of its people are rich and it is def worthwhile to stay at a backpackers or two just to get the vibe of the land. I’m off for a bit and will continue the telling of the journey tomorrow.
