Ahhh the Great Outdoors

Ahhh the great outdoors something I have always been fond of. Some people are really nervous at the prospect of getting their hands dirty and having some good old fashion fun. Recently some of my friends were staying at Cape Town guest house accommodation and wanted to do something exciting to do, I had just the thing.

Lions Head full moon climb, you simply cannot go wrong as long as you don’t mind climbing with a lot of other people as it is quite the tourist Mecca. Also my friends that were staying at hout bay accommodation are quite dainty and are not used to getting their hands dirty. So I told them that they need to man up (and woman up) and just do it.

Turns out we all had a great climb and loved every second of it. The view on the way up was great as we got to walk up while the sun was setting, which was absolutely beautiful. Once you get to the top and you have made sure that you have brought a backpack full of snacks, water and of course wine, you can sit down and wait for the moon to rise. And I tell you it is spectacular, as the sun goes down and you are in awe of what you are see on the one side, you get to turn around and see the moon rising. I took many photos and my friends were very happy that I forced them up there.

The key is to stay at the top for as long as possible, because there is a rush to get down, so just relax and enjoy the company of your friends and the good scenery and not to mention the snacks and wine.

Lions head full moon is defiantly a must for everyone, but remember to take it slow, if you are in a rush you will not enjoy it.
